Before you travel

  • Check your landing point

Jungut Batu, Mushroom Bay and Rocky Private Harbour are served by different operators. The landing point is on your ticket; arrange your pick-up for the right one.

  • Fast boat tickets

Ferryhopper sells the fast boats from Sanur and Nusa Dua. Check-in time and place are on your ticket: finding the departure point.

  • Luggage and wet landings

Free luggage differs by operator: on Ferryhopper, from 1 bag of 20 kg to 2 bags of 40 kg together. Per operator. At the beach landings you carry your bags through shallow water: pack luggage you can carry, and keep phones and documents in a waterproof bag.

  • Reduced mobility

At Jungut Batu and Mushroom Bay you land on the beach; Rocky Fast Cruise lands at a jetty. Ask the operator about steps, help with boarding and wheelchairs before you book: what to ask.

  • Flights on the same day

We cannot say whether a connection will work. Boat and flight are separate bookings, and the sea can delay or stop boats: what to count.

  • Island entry fee

Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan charge the same fee as Nusa Penida: IDR 25,000 per adult and IDR 15,000 per child aged 4 to 13, on top of the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000. Bring a bank card and some cash.

  • Nyepi

On Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, the ports in Bali close. In 2026 the ferry service at Padang Bai stopped from 04:00 on 19 March to 11:30 on 20 March; other ports can differ. The date and times change every year; check them before you plan a crossing in March or April.

Weather and disruption

Check before you travel

High waves in the Badung Strait can delay or stop the fast boats. BMKG, the Indonesian weather agency, expects the highest waves from June to August, with the south-east monsoon. In early August 2025, Sanur harbour cancelled 80 to 90 fast boat trips when waves reached about 4 m.

BMKG publishes a daily wave forecast for the Badung Strait: maritim.bmkg.go.id. If your boat is cancelled, contact the seller of your ticket. For a Ferryhopper booking, tell Ferryhopper, because refunds are not automatic.
