Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data Bali Ferry Routes processes and why. The site uses Google Analytics to measure how the guides are used. It does not use advertising trackers.

Who is responsible

FerryGoGo B.V., Jufferstraat 3, 3701 AD Zeist, the Netherlands (KvK 76706060), is the controller for the personal data processed through this site. Contact: info@ferrygogo.com.

What we process

  • Visiting the site. Our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in server logs, to deliver the pages and to keep the site secure.
  • Google Analytics. When you open a page, your browser connects to Google and Google Analytics sets cookies. Google receives technical data such as your IP address. We see how many people visit, which pages they read, their approximate location and device type, and which links to Ferryhopper are used: the page, the position of the link and the route. We do not send your name or email address to Google. Google may process this data outside the European Union.
  • Emailing us. When you email us, we use your email address and message to reply, and keep them only as long as needed for that.
  • Live times from Ferryhopper. Many pages show live times and fares from Ferryhopper. When that part of a page comes into view, your browser connects to Ferryhopper’s servers, including a service hosted by Amazon Web Services, and Ferryhopper receives technical data such as your IP address. You are not asked first.
  • Booking through a partner link. When you follow a link to Ferryhopper, Ferryhopper’s own privacy policy applies. Ferryhopper records that you came from this site, so that a booking can be credited to us. Links to booking partners run through a short /go/ address on this site, which counts clicks per link in total and stores nothing about you. We do not receive your booking or payment details.
  • Links to places to stay. These links run through a short /go/ address and Stay22 to Booking.com, and the privacy policies of Stay22 and Booking.com apply. Stay22 records that you came from this site, so that a booking can be credited to us.

Legal basis

We process server log data on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and your email on the basis of your request. We use Google Analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing how the guides are used, so that we can improve them. We load the Ferryhopper widget on the basis of our legitimate interest in showing current times and fares.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, and object to its processing. Email info@ferrygogo.com. To stop Google Analytics in your browser, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
