Before you travel

Good to know about Nusa Lembongan

Practical points for the island. Boat times, check-in and the day trip are in the route guide.

  • Arrival in the water

At Jungut Batu and Mushroom Bay the boats land on the beach, and you wade ashore. Pack bags you can carry; Rocky Fast Cruise lands at its own jetty. Reduced mobility: what to ask before you book.

  • Getting around

There are hardly any cars. Pick-up trucks and tuk-tuks work as taxis, and scooters and buggies are for hire. The roads are narrow and hilly.

  • The Yellow Bridge

The bridge to Nusa Ceningan was rebuilt in 2017. It is 140 m long and 1.8 m wide, and open to pedestrians and motorbikes only.

  • Entry fee

Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida charge IDR 25,000 per adult and IDR 15,000 per child aged 4 to 13, on top of the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000. It was introduced as one payment for all three islands: keep your receipt and ask at the harbour if you cross to another island.

  • Money

The island has only a few ATMs, and they are often empty or offline. Withdraw cash in Bali; hotels and restaurants that take cards often add a surcharge.

  • Season and sea

High waves in the Badung Strait can delay or stop the boats, most often from June to August. The route guide has the details.
